Velocity

Velocity is a bible study series for teenagers that includes videos lessons and followup lessons on topics that are relevant to teens. Lessons in this series include:

Freedom
Teens are striving for independence. They equate being a "grown-up" with having complete freedom to make their own choices and choose their own fate. Teens will discover that no matter how old you are, there will always be boundaries in life. They will learn that along with the freedom to make choices, comes the chance to show our love for God through living responsible lives.

Culture Clash
Hollywood and the church. MTV and morality. The cultures are clashing and teens are stuck in the middle. Are you going to go with the flow, or take the road less traveled? Teens learn that following the crowd can have consequences. They examine their actions and attitudes. The videodiscusses how to listen to God and make good decisions.

Relevant
Why do teens come to church? Some come just to meet their friends or because their parents make them. Others are seeking answers to their struggles in life. Teens realize that church is a community of faith that can inspire one another in love and service. They learn the steps to make their faith more relevant and then be challenged to change the world.

Fitting In
Everyone needs to feel accepted. But it’s hard for a teen who feels like they never fit in. They live in fear of saying the wrong thing, hating their looks, and feeling left out. Teens discover how to connect their hearts to God and find their identity in Him. And they learn ways to build good relationships with other teens.

Hope
It’s not easy to believe that God is in control when the world looks bleak. Teens can feel discouraged with their parents’ divorce, failure at school or betrayal by friends. Teens discover that God doesn’t always do exactly what we ask, but He acts in a lot of ways we don’t expect. He gives us the strength to get through. They discuss ways to find hope when everything seems hopeless.
